Qatar's Foreign Ministry has said it is continuing high-level diplomatic efforts to reduce rising tensions in the Middle East, which has been a source of concern for some time due to rising tensions between the United States and Iran.

Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, advisor to the Prime Minister and spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held a press conference and said that returning to dialogue is the only option for regional security and stability.

He also informed that there is continuous contact between Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Iranian President Masoud Peshmerga. He said that Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani's recent visit to Tehran is part of the effort to reduce regional tensions.
According to Al Ansari, these efforts by Qatar are not alone. 'Other countries in the region are also included. In recent days, extensive regional dialogue has been taking place and continuous efforts are being made to prevent tensions from escalating again,' he clarified.

Stating that the issue related to Iran is very complex, Al Ansari said that the solution to regional problems cannot be achieved through a single issue. 'Returning to a new dialogue process that covers all issues is the need of the hour,' he said. He said that Qatar is trying to move the region away from tension, accusations and harsh statements towards a dialogue-oriented environment.

Noting that Qatar and Iran share common interests in geography, history and energy, Al Ansari reiterated that dialogue is the only way to peace and de-escalation. He also said that Qatar has taken all necessary precautions in light of the current regional situation and is closely monitoring developments.
