The US Department of Justice has released millions of new files related to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Three million pages, 180,000 photos and 2,000 videos were released on Friday. The public files include details of Jeffrey Epstein's prison life. They also include investigative records of Epstein's associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Maxwell is accused of transporting underage girls to Epstein's resorts. The public files also include emails between Epstein and high-profile figures. Epstein died in August 2019 while serving a prison sentence on sex trafficking charges. US President Donald Trump is also named in several of the emails. However, there is no evidence of direct email exchanges with him. Trump has acknowledged that he once had a friendship with Epstein. However, years ago, they have been saying that they had no knowledge of the friendship and his sexual crimes. An email related to Elon Musk has also been leaked. In a 2012 email, Elon Musk asked Epstein, “What night is the fun party on your island?”

In November 2012, Epstein asked Musk, “How many people do you need to take to the island by helicopter?”

In response, Musk said that only he and his then-wife, Talulah Riel, would be attending. In another email, Musk mentioned that he wanted to “experience the peaceful island.”

Musk claims that Epstein invited him to the island but did not go there.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates’ name is also involved in this. Two emails were apparently drafted by Epstein to be sent to Bill Gates on July 18, 2013.

But it is not clear whether the emails were sent to Gates. One of the emails mentions that Gates had to buy medication to deal with problems after having sex with Russian youths.

A spokesman for Bill Gates has denied Epstein's claims. He has said that Gates had no relationship with Epstein. However, the Epstein finale, which was released last December, also included photos of Bill Gates.

British prince invited to meet Russian woman

Epstein had relationships with high-profile people. One of the people he was close to was Britain's Prince Andrew Mountbatten. Mountbatten, who was criticized for his friendship with Epstein, has already decided to leave the palace some time ago. However, he has maintained that he did nothing wrong.

One of the files now released is an invitation from Epstein to introduce the Duke to a 26-year-old Russian woman. It is addressed to “HRH Duke of York KG.” The email appears to have been sent in 2010.

An email exchange between Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson and Epstein appears to have taken place on April 4, 2009. Sarah referred to Epstein as “my dear, wonderful and special friend Jeffrey.”

Similarly, a conversation between Lord Mandelson, the former US ambassador to the UK, and Epstein has also been released.

How much was released?

US Justice Department Assistant Attorney General Todd Blanche said that most of the people who came into contact with Epstein were “very close” to him. All files have been made public. Meanwhile, opposition Democratic Party leaders have claimed that the department still has 2.5 million documents withheld.

‘The Justice Department had said that it had identified more than 6 million potentially responsible pages.’ But after review and redaction, only about 3.5 million are being released,” said Democratic Congressman Roh Khanna. “It raises the question of why the rest is being withheld.”

Most of the documents released on Friday are redacted. Blanche said the redactions were made to protect victims.

Who is Epstein?

Businessman and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein died under suspicious circumstances in prison in 2019. He was accused of operating luxury resorts around the Caribbean and taking young girls there to serve wealthy men.
