Amid the ongoing protests in Iran, some Indian nationals returned to the country on Friday-Saturday night. They briefed the media at the Delhi airport about the latest situation in Iran.
They have also thanked the Indian government for their return home. An MBBS student who returned to India from Iran said that she was not aware of the situation outside Iran due to lack of internet.
She said that she had heard about the protests taking place in the place where she was staying, but she did not see them. She said that the embassy had contacted her about the support of the Indian High Commission, but she returned on her own.
Other students said that the Indian government had fully supported their return from Iran. Another student said, “We received full support from the Indian government. The Indian High Commission also fully supported our security.”
Another person, Shabbir Hussain, said that the situation in Tehran is now improving and the number of protesters is also decreasing. Shabbir is from Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “We were able to return to the country safely due to the support of the Indian government.”
But another student said that the situation in Iran is very bad. He said that the government is suppressing the protesters and they are not even able to go out. He also thanked the Indian government for allowing them to return home.
