The United States is set to withdraw from 66 international organizations, including the United Nations Population Agency and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
President Donald Trump signed an order on Wednesday to end funding and support for those organizations, agencies and commissions. Among the organizations Trump has cut off cooperation with are 31 United Nations-affiliated organizations. There are also 35 other international bodies. The White House said the decision was made after reviewing US investment and support in various international organizations. The cuts include UN-related agencies, commissions and advisory committees on climate, labor, immigration and other issues. The story also includes organizations such as the Partnership for Atlantic Cooperation, the International Institute for Democracy and Voting Support, and the Global Counterterrorism Forum. The US has already stopped funding and support for organizations including the World Health Organization, the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), the United Nations Human Rights Office, and the cultural agency (UNESCO).
