The private home of US Vice President J.D. Vance has been broken into. His home in Cincinnati, Ohio, was broken into on Sunday evening local time.

The windows of Vance's house were broken, the house was damaged, and a Secret Service vehicle was damaged. Police have taken a suspect into custody after the home was vandalized. 

According to the Cincinnati Police Department, an adult male was taken into custody with a hammer.  Just hours before the incident, Vance and his family had left Cincinnati for Washington, D.C. So far, police have not released any personal details about the suspect or the motive for the vandalism. 

Following the incident, Vice President Vance expressed his gratitude to rescue and security personnel on social media. He also praised the Secret Service and Cincinnati Police for their swift action, noting that there was an attempted break-in at his home.
