At least one person has been killed and at least 28 others injured in an airstrike by Russia on the Ukrainian capital, Kiev.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the attack lasted about 10 hours. He said life in the capital city had been disrupted as the war destroyed vital infrastructure. People took shelter in metro stations as Russian drones and missiles pounded the city. President Jansensky said Russia had fired about 500 drones and 40 missiles across the country on Friday night. He said Russia had targeted power plants and civilians. “The violence speaks for itself when Russian officials are engaged in talks to end the fighting,” he said. “This is the attitude of Putin and his inner circle.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to meet US President Donald Trump in Florida on Sunday to discuss ending the nearly four-year-old war.
