Israel launched a drone attack on the Gaza Strip on Christmas Eve, causing panic among locals and disrupting all Christmas celebrations, according to international media outlet Al Jazeera.

"Many churches across Gaza either scaled back or cancelled their Christmas activities altogether. Or held small prayers or private gatherings inside the church walls," Al Jazeera's Hani Mahmoud said from the Gaza Strip. "There was no real sense of celebration." He said the sound of the bomb on Christmas Eve had shaken locals. Fourteen countries, including Britain, Canada, Denmark and France, have opposed Israel's move to expand 19 new settlements in the West Bank. They say the move runs counter to the UN's "two-state solution" and threatens regional peace and security. Hamas talks with Iran A Hamas delegation led by Osama Hamdan has held talks with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, at various stages. During the talks, Hamas has urged Iraq to support the Palestinians' demands.

Similarly, discussions have been held on implementing the previous Gaza ceasefire agreement. The horrific situation in Gaza and the Palestinians living in Israeli prisons were also discussed in these talks.
