The Cambodia-Thailand border conflict has resumed since December 7, with both sides accusing each other of launching attacks.
The Cambodian Ministry of Defense said on Monday that the Thai military's expanded offensive into Cambodia had impacted Cambodia's sovereign territory and resulted in the deaths of 12 civilians.
The Thai military has expanded its airstrikes in various locations in northwestern Cambodia's Siem Reap province, the ministry said in a press release.
The number of Cambodian civilians killed and 74 injured in the escalating border conflict with Thailand has risen, Cambodian Interior Ministry spokesman Toch Sokhak told reporters on Monday.
Meanwhile, the number of displaced people in Cambodia has exceeded 403,000.
Lieutenant General Mali Socheta, Undersecretary of State and spokesman for the Cambodian Ministry of Defense, said Thai forces continued to shell several locations in Cambodian territory from Sunday to Monday.
