Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, in Moscow on Tuesday to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.
The BBC reported that Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner may also participate in the discussions. He has been acting as an external advisor in diplomatic negotiations.
The new talks in Russia come two days after the talks between Ukrainians and Americans in Florida. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the talks with American representatives were positive and that further preparations were needed for talks with Russia on some difficult issues.
Russia and Ukraine have been at war since 2022. Since then, millions of people have fled their homes and thousands have lost their lives in the war.
