The counting of votes for the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 has begun at 8 am local time. Earlier, a total of 243 seats were contested on November 6 and 11.
The Election Commission of India has reported that 66.91 percent of the votes were cast in the election. This is the first time that such a high number of votes have been cast in any election held in the state of Bihar since India's independence.
More women voted in the election than men. Of the total votes, 71.6 percent were cast by women and 62.8 percent by men.
Independent observers have said that the voting process in this election was very simple and organized, and security arrangements were tight.
