The British media organization BBC has apologized for the poor editing of US President Donald Trump's speech. The BBC had included fragments of his speech on January 6, 2021, in a documentary series called Panorama.

The BBC has also decided not to air the program again. The BBC admitted the mistake, saying, “This mistake showed that Trump was directly calling for violent protests.”

However, it has rejected Trump’s demand for compensation. Trump’s lawyers had previously threatened to sue the BBC for $1 billion.

Following the incident, BBC Director General Tim Davey and Head of News Deborah Turney resigned last Sunday.
