A group of people entered the office after 1 pm on Thursday, shouting slogans against the party. They gathered some banners in the office and set them on fire, Bangladeshi media The Daily Star reported.

In such a situation, various pro-government political parties and groups had warned of protests against the political activities of the Awami League.
The Awami League's party office is located in the Gulistan area of Dhaka. However, due to the political ban on the party, no programs had been held here recently. The party also announced Thursday's Dhaka bandh through social media.
Bangladesh is going to hold elections in February. But Hasina's Awami League has been barred from contesting in this election. Hasina's supporters have been protesting the move.
