China's Shenzhou-21 space rocket and its crew launched into space on a Long March-2F rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on Friday, the seventh mission since China established a permanent space station in 2022, Chinese media reported.

During this mission, three astronauts will stay in space for 6 months. Participant Wu Fei, 32, is the youngest astronaut in Chinese history to participate in the mission.

Similarly, Zhang Hongzhang, 39, is also traveling for the first time. They were selected for this program in 2020. Previously, the members of Shenzhou-20 were conducting research in space for more than 6 months. They will return to Earth in a few days and a new team will conduct research in their place.

Four black mice will also arrive at the Chinese space station along with the members of Shenzhou-21. These mice will be used to test reproduction in ‘low Earth orbit’.

China’s technological achievements have recently alerted the United States. The United States is now preparing to send its scientists to the moon. NASA is launching the ‘Artemis Second Mission’ in early 2026. During this mission, four scientists will orbit the moon for 10 days.
