Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to maintain the ceasefire agreement. The agreement was reached on Friday during talks that have been going on for a week in various stages, mediated by Turkey and Qatar.

The hosts of the talks, Turkey and Afghanistan-Pakistan, issued a joint statement on Friday, saying the ceasefire agreement would remain in place. The statement also mentioned that further discussions and debates would be held on additional modalities for the implementation of the agreement. The two countries will hold another round of talks in Istanbul on November 6.

Tensions over the border dispute led to soldiers from the two countries attacking each other this month. Since then, Turkey and Qatar have been mediating between the two countries.

Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Tahir Andrawi expressed hope for a positive outcome from the talks on November 6. He said, "Pakistan will continue to be involved in the talks and we hope for a positive outcome from the talks on November 6."
