The BJP-led ruling coalition in Bihar, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), has released its joint election manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections. Countering the election promises of the grand alliance comprising parties including the RJD-Congress, the NDA has also announced to provide employment to one crore youth.
Employment has been a major issue in every election in Bihar. Similarly, the NDA has unveiled an ambitious plan to make 10 million women entrepreneurs millionaires, develop metro rail in four major cities and develop seven international airports in the state.
In Patna, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP President JP Nadda, Union Ministers Jitan Ram Majhi, Lok Jan Shakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan and Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha jointly unveiled the manifesto.
At the event, BJP Bihar President Dilip Jaiswal said that the election manifesto was prepared with the assurance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the trust of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Bihar is going to hold elections in two phases on November 6 and 11. The grand alliance led by the RJD and Congress had unveiled its election manifesto only on Tuesday. It has been named 'Tejashwi Ka Pran'.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has been nominated by the grand alliance as the new Chief Minister. The grand alliance's election manifesto states that 'a law will be made to ensure employment for at least one member of every family within 20 days of the formation of the new government.' The manifesto states that 200 units of electricity will be provided free of cost to every family and that women will receive Rs 2,500 per month for five years under the 'Mai Bahin Maan Yojana'. It is estimated that there will be a tough competition between the two alliances and the Janasuraj Party led by Prashant Kishor Jha in this election.
What is more interesting is that Tej Pratap Yadav, who was expelled from the RJD and the Lalu Yadav family, has also launched the Janshakti Janata Dal and entered the election. The election results will tell what kind of impact his party will have.
