Trump has been accused of displaying authoritarian tendencies, weakening democracy, adopting a strict policy against immigrants, and increasing division in society.

Just a week ago, US President Donald Trump was widely talked about for his efforts to end the two-year war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas. Several countries even suggested that he should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
But this praise did not last even a week. Meanwhile, millions of ordinary people have taken to the streets against Trump in the US. On Sunday, protests against Trump took place in more than 2,600 places in the US alone.
International media reported that about 7 million people participated in such rallies in the US. Not only this, thousands of citizens have also taken to the streets against Trump in European and Latin American countries. In Colombia, the US embassy has been attacked. Protesters have even attempted to vandalize and set fire to the US embassy. Several protesters have been arrested.
The protests in the US have been named the 'No Kings' movement. Protesters allege that the country is rapidly moving towards authoritarianism under Trump's rule. Earlier, more than 2,100 rallies were held during the first 'No Kings' demonstration in June. Trump, who has been threatening the world's powerful countries with 'tariff wars' and other diplomacy, is now surrounded not only abroad but also within his own country. Despite the millions of protesters taking to the streets, international media outlets have reported that there have been no casualties so far.
The largest crowds gathered in New York's Times Square, Boston, Atlanta, and Chicago parks. Similarly, millions of people have also taken to the streets in Washington, Los Angeles, and many Republican-ruled states. The Republican Party has called the protests a 'hate rally', meaning a demonstration of those who hate America.
Meanwhile, Trump has responded to the 'No Kings' demonstration through an AI video. He shared a 1-minute and 20-second video on his social media account Truth. In it, he is seen riding a fighter jet wearing a crown. The jet reads 'Kings Trump'. In the video, Trump is seen throwing feces at protesters.
Third largest demonstration during Trump's term
This is the third largest demonstration against Trump in his second term. The first 'No Kings' demonstration was held last June. At that time, violence broke out in Salt Lake City. A person participating in the demonstration was trying to shoot at the protesters. The person standing with the rifle and another person were injured. One person later died in the hospital.
Currently, many government services are shut down in the United States. There has been a dispute between the parliament and the judiciary over the behavior of the Trump administration for some time. This demonstration is being held against Trump's controversial policies. This time, the participants in the demonstration have raised their voices against democracy, justice and abuse of power.
Speaking to the media, Daniel Gamez, a former US Marine Corps soldier in Houston, said, 'What is happening in this country right now? Nothing can be said.' Protesters have protested peacefully in New York's Times Square. Police said that no one was arrested there. However, more than 100,000 people took to the streets.
Why is the demonstration taking place?
This demonstration against Trump is not a sudden one. Since taking office for the second term, people have been angry because of his controversial decisions. He has even waged an economic war by imposing heavy tariffs on friendly countries. But there was opposition within the country, saying that such policies would harm the American people.
Even though the ceasefire in Gaza was initiated by Trump, there was opposition in American universities from the beginning, saying that it supported the attack on Israel. He decided to stop funding to universities, saying that they could not stop such demonstrations. That is why he had adopted a strict policy against immigrants in the 10 months since he took office this time.
Trump had decided to stop funding to universities, saying that there were activities of pro-Palestinians, and to deploy the National Guard in several states, due to which the public has risen against him. Trump is accused of weakening democracy, showing authoritarian tendencies, adopting a strict policy against immigrants, and increasing division in society. Similarly, Trump is being opposed for reasons such as making huge cuts in health care, taking initiatives in the interests of billionaires, and not considering the needs of ordinary people.
Organized protest
The people did not spontaneously participate in this huge demonstration seen in America. There was a long preparation for this. More than 300 organizations have organized events. They are calling for demonstrations against Trump in the United States and abroad.
Leah Greenberg, co-founder of Indivisible, one of the organizations organizing the demonstration called ‘No Kings,’ said, “We don’t have kings in our country, and that’s the greatest identity of America that people can protest openly.” He said it was a peaceful resistance against authoritarian tendencies.
The American Liberties Union said it had provided legal training to thousands of volunteers. Volunteers were given legal training to act as marshals at the marches in various cities. Advertisements and messages for the ‘No Kings’ demonstration on social media also helped thousands of people take to the demonstration.
Along with leaders including Hillary Clinton,
Progressive leaders Senator Bernie Sanders and Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have supported the demonstration. Similarly, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 presidential election, has also supported the protest. Many social activists, celebrities, and professors have also openly supported the movement. Trump has not given much public response to this. However, in an interview with Fox Business, he said, “People are calling me king, but I am not king.”
What is the ‘No Kings’ protest?
More than 300 organizations in America have formed a coalition called ‘No Kings’. Most of the organizations with leftist ideology are participating in it. The same coalition also demonstrated last June. All information related to this movement is being provided by the ‘No Kings’ coalition.
Why was this organization formed? What is the purpose of the demonstration? What is the meaning of the colors used in it? Information about its history is provided on the coalition’s official website ‘NoKings.org’. The website itself has been used to announce the protest programs and calls for the general public to take to the streets. According to the website, ‘No Kings’ is not just a slogan.
‘This is America’s history. This slogan was born in the streets. Millions of people are connected to it,’ it says. The slogan has been repeated on several posters. It has also urged all citizens to take to the streets against Trump’s dictatorial tendencies.
‘No Kings’ means that there are no kings in America anymore. There has been no king or autocratic ruler in America since 1776. But the coalition said that the demonstration was held because Trump has shown more dictatorial behavior than a king through his harsh policies.
Ceasefire in Gaza does not last even a week
Trump’s announcement that there will be permanent peace in West Asia by establishing a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel did not last even a week. As the first phase of the agreement after the ceasefire was being implemented, the Israeli army has resumed airstrikes in Gaza. Israel launched airstrikes in southern Gaza, saying that Hamas violated the ceasefire agreement.
An Israeli army spokesman said that Hamas has carried out several attacks against Israeli forces outside the Yellow Line. According to him, Hamas attacked as Israeli troops were withdrawing under the first phase of the agreement brokered by Trump. In response, Israel also launched airstrikes, the international news agency BBC reported.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) wrote on the social network X, ‘Terrorists fired anti-tank missiles and opened fire on Israeli soldiers stationed in the Rafah area of southern Gaza.’ In response, the IDF said it had launched an attack on the area to destroy tunnels and other structures used in terrorist activities. The IDF said, ‘These terrorist activities are a gross violation of the ceasefire agreement. The IDF will respond strongly to this.’
Meanwhile, Hamas has accused Israel of violating it several times, despite its commitment to the ceasefire agreement. The first phase of US President Trump’s Gaza peace plan came into effect on October 10. Under which Hamas released Israeli hostages and Israel released Palestinian prisoners. Al Jazeera also reported that Israel carried out airstrikes.
According to Hamas's Health Ministry, at least five Palestinians were killed in the Israeli attack in central Gaza. Meanwhile, two people were killed and several others were injured in northern Gaza, Al Jazeera reported. Pressure is growing on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resume the war. Right-wing leaders have increased pressure to resume the war after the Israeli military claimed that Hamas had violated the ceasefire.
Hamas has rejected Israel's claim. Opposition leader and former Security Council member Benny Gantz said that all options should be open to Israel. Similarly, former Prime Minister and Netanyahu's rival Naftali Bennett also said that Hamas should be destroyed as it has regained control of Gaza.
Hamas's Qassas Brigades issued a statement saying that they were not aware of any incidents or clashes in Rafah. He said, "Because since the war started again here in March, we have been disconnected from the rest of our groups there." After the ceasefire, Hamas blindfolded 27 Palestinians in one day, kneeling on the street and shooting them dead, accusing them of supporting Israel during the war. Then on Thursday, US President Trump even threatened to invade Gaza and finish them off, saying that Hamas had violated the ceasefire agreement.
However, now the US president is surrounded by the anger of millions of citizens in his own country. Meanwhile, Hamas has already launched airstrikes on charges of violating the agreement. In such a situation, it is unclear who will mediate to maintain the peace agreement or whether there will be another war in Gaza. – With the help of the agency
