A Taliban official told the AFP news agency that Pakistan had launched an operation in the Afghan border area. The official said that Afghanistan would respond to the ceasefire violation by Pakistan.

Pakistan has not yet commented on the matter. The ceasefire agreement was reached on Wednesday after 48 hours of fighting between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The two countries held talks in Doha under the mediation of Qatar.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board said that three cricketers were killed in the attack in Paktika province. The ACB has also issued a statement condemning the attack.

Afghanistan has also withdrawn from the Twenty20 International series to be played between Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Afghanistan in November. The ACB has released photos of the three players, saying, ‘These three players were targeted in an attack by Pakistan on Friday evening.’

According to the Afghanistan Cricket Board, the three players, Kabir, Shivgatullah and Haroon, as well as five other civilians, were killed. The board said, ‘Out of respect for the players and in response to this tragic incident, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has decided to withdraw from the triangular Twenty20 series with Pakistan to be played at the end of November.’ The Pakistan Cricket Board has not commented on this matter.

Widely criticized

The International Human Rights Foundation (IHRF) has issued a statement on the deaths of cricketers in a Pakistani attack in Afghanistan. The organization has condemned the attack.

The IHRF said, “We strongly condemn the killing of members of the local Afghan cricket team in an attack by the Pakistani army. This attack on civilians is a serious violation of international law and the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.” In the photos and videos shared by the foundation, some of the players are seen playing cricket.

Similarly, the IHRF has appealed to all international human rights organizations to immediately investigate this incident and the pattern of violence against Afghan civilians.

Afghanistan captain and star cricketer Rashid Khan has called the Pakistani attack a tragedy. He said, “Targeting civilians is completely immoral and barbaric.” Such illegal and unjust attacks are a violation of human rights.'

Rashid Khan has also supported the Afghanistan Cricket Board's decision to withdraw from the triangular series with Pakistan. Similarly, Gulbadin Naib has also called the attack a brutal act by the Pakistani army. He said, 'This attack is an attack on our citizens, our pride and freedom.'

The series was scheduled to be played between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. The tournament was scheduled to be held from 17 to 29 November in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
