US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are set to meet in the Hungarian capital.
After a telephone conversation between Trump and Putin on Thursday, the two presidents have agreed to meet in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, according to international media outlet Reuters. The meeting is scheduled to take place within two weeks, but the date and time have not been made public.
The meeting is set to seek a solution to the Russia-Ukraine ceasefire that has been in place since 2022. The two presidents had previously met in Alaska, USA. At that time, no concrete decision could be made on the ceasefire, so the two presidents are set to meet again. The Hamas-Israel ceasefire that has been in place since October 2023, initiated by Trump, is also making the Trump-Putin talks more interesting.
