More than 250 media outlets in the world have expressed resistance to the end of the attacks on journalists in Gaza.

Reporters Without Borders ( RSF ), Global Campaigning Movement Awaz  and the International Federation of Journalists ( IFJ ) on Monday  more than 250 media outlets from 50 countries around the world expressed their resistance together .

The coordinators of the campaign have demanded the protection of Palestinian journalists, the emergency rescue of journalists who want to leave Gaza, an end to impunity for Israeli crimes and free access of the foreign press to the territory . RSF Director General Thibaut Brutin said - 'At the rate at which journalists are being killed by the Israeli army in Gaza, there will be no one left to inform the world . This is not only a war in Gaza, this is a war on journalism itself.' Andrew Legan, director of campaigns for AVAZ, said that Gaza had been deliberately turned into a graveyard for journalists . Legon said – 'If the last witnesses are silenced, the killing will not stop, it will only become invisible. So today we are saying together with newsrooms around the world: We will not allow this to happen!'

The General Secretary of the International Federation of Journalists, Anthony Belanger, said that the killing of journalists will deprive people of their right to know. 'They risked everything and lost their lives to show the world the truth. As a result of this war, people's right to know has been seriously damaged,' he said, 'We demand justice and the United Nations International Convention on the Protection and Freedom of Journalists.' The campaign calls on the international community to take immediate action to protect journalists in Gaza and to respect journalism's role in the conflict. CPJ has confirmed that 197 journalists and media personnel have been killed as of August 25, 2025. 189 of those killed were Palestinians. , at least 247 Palestinian journalists have been killed in this war that has been going on for almost 22 months. 

The Watson Institute at Brown University in the US said in April that the war was "the worst conflict ever for reporters". The number of journalists killed in Gaza is more than the total number of journalists killed in the American Civil War, the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Afghanistan War, according to a report by Brown University in the United States.
