Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that it is important for both India and China to remain good neighbours.

In a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, he said, 'It is very important for dragons and elephants to be together.'

The Chinese president said, 'The world is moving towards change. China and India are the oldest civilizations in the world. We are both the most populous countries in the world and we are also part of the Global South.

He said that it would be good for both countries to remain friends and it was necessary to be good neighbours. Earlier, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the relationship between India and China has reached a positive direction in the meeting. 

The meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is continuing from today to September 1 in Tianjin, China. Along with Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Russian President Vladimir Putin will also participate in this meeting.
