The Houthi-run Health Ministry said on Monday that 86 people were injured in the attack.
Six people were killed and 86 injured in an Israeli airstrike in Yemen's capital Sana'a on Sunday, the Houthi-run Health Ministry said on Monday. Among the injured are 7 children and 3 women. Houthi officials have said that the number of dead may rise as the condition of 21 injured people is critical.
According to Houthi, the attack targeted fuel and power stations, the presidential palace complex and other civilian facilities. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the attack. Israeli-owned Kan TV reported that 14 warplanes had attacked and about 40 bombs had been dropped. The Houthi group called the attack a "brutal attack" and accused both Israel and the United States of "heinous crimes". In addition, he also warned of retaliatory attacks.
Earlier, the Houthis fired a hypersonic ballistic missile at Tel Aviv. Although those missiles damaged the houses of civilians, no one was killed. The Houthis have been taking control of much of northern Yemen since November 2023 and have been repeatedly attacking Israel with the support of the Palestinians in Gaza. Israel has also been carrying out retaliatory airstrikes in Houthi-held areas.
