US President Donald Trump has warned that if there is no concrete progress towards a peaceful solution to the Ukraine war within the next two weeks, he will decide to impose strict sanctions or tariffs against Russia.

Trump's threat came a week after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15.

Talking to reporters at the White House, he said, 'I am going to take a very important decision. Either large-scale restrictions or tariffs can be both. Or we can also say that this is not America's fight, it is yours.'

He has expressed anger about the recent Russian attack on an American factory in Ukraine. As a result of the attack, the factory caught fire and two employees were also injured. He said, 'I am not happy about this.' Talking to journalists in the Oval Office, he said, 'Everything is happening in the Russia-Ukraine war. I have no question about that. In the next two weeks, it will be clear where this war will go.

He emphasized that the leaders of both countries should sit together and talk. I want both leaders to sit together and talk. If they do not do this, then I have to think about why this is happening," he said.

Similarly, he has said that during his tenure, he has stopped seven wars and avoided three possible wars. He said, 'I am not happy with this war. In the next two weeks, we will know where this war is going.'

Previously, on August 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reached the White House with the leaders of European countries. He took the leaders of European countries with him for the immediate end of the war with Russia. Trump claimed that he had arranged a meeting with Putin and Zelensky.
