The White House, the official residence of the US President, launched its official TikTok account on Tuesday. According to the American media, its purpose is to deliver President Donald Trump's messages to more than 170 million American users of TikTok.

America we are back! What's up, Tiktok?' A 27-second video clip has been placed on the White House's Tiktok account with the caption. An hour after posting the post, the account reached 4,500 followers. Trump's personal account on Tiktok has 15.1 million followers. However, Trump has not posted a new post on TikTok since November 5, 2024.

Trump is soft on this video sharing app, saying that Tiktok helped him win the support of young voters by defeating the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the presidential election last November.

US lawmakers have expressed concern that Tiktok will provide its users' data to the Chinese government. Trump is trying to broker a deal with TikTok's Chinese company, ByteDance, to get US investors to buy the app.

The press secretary of the White House, Caroline Levitt, said, "The Trump administration is committed to delivering the historic successes that President Trump has given to the American people to as many audiences and platforms as possible." Trump did not implement the law after he began his second term on January 20. He initially extended the deadline to early April, then to June 19 and again to September 17.

Some MPs have criticized the extension of this deadline . According to them, the Trump administration is defying the law and ignoring national security concerns related to China's control over TikTok.
