Israeli citizens have taken to the streets to demand an end to the war in Gaza and the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

They protested demanding an end to the ongoing war in Gaza and an agreement to release the Israeli hostages.

On Sunday night, a large crowd gathered at the Hostages Square in Tel Aviv. Due to the one-day national strike, roads have been affected in some areas and universities have also been closed.

Around 40 people who demonstrated throughout the day have been arrested.

The organizers of the protest have said that there is a risk of death of 20 hostages held by Hamas due to the plan to control Gaza City.

Criticism of the protest

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has criticized the protest. He said, "Such demonstrations inside Israel will increase the morale of Hamas and delay the release of the hostages." In that attack, 1200 people were killed in Israel. In which there were 10 Nepali students.

Similarly, after that attack, Hamas took 251 hostages, including a Nepali, to Gaza. Out of which only about 20 people are said to be alive now. According to the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry, more than 61,000 Palestinians have been killed so far in Gaza by Israel.
