At least 20 people died and 134 were injured in an explosion in a factory located in the Shilovsky district of the Ryazan region of Russia, according to the regional operational headquarters.

According to the Russian News Agency (Tas), 31 of the injured are being treated in hospital, while 133 have been treated as outpatients. Officials related to

have said that the search and rescue operation is still ongoing.

Ryazan region is considered to be the center of many large industrial factories including chemicals, metals and plastics. In the last decade, there have been many industrial accidents here which have caused huge human losses and injuries.
