Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kurmar met with Russian Deputy Defense Minister General Alexander Fomin.

During the meeting, both sides reiterated their commitment to increase bilateral defense cooperation.

In a statement issued by the Russian Ministry of Defense, it is said, "The Indian ambassador met General Fomin, who is in charge of international defense cooperation." This meeting took place in traditional relations and in a friendly atmosphere.

The ministry said that there was a detailed discussion between the two parties on relevant issues related to mutual cooperation in the defense sector. In this process, it is expected to strengthen mutual cooperation under the spirit of strategic partnership. 

This meeting took place when US President Donald Trump threatened to impose additional taxes within the next 24 hours for purchasing crude oil from Russia. For this reason, this meeting has been watched with great interest.
