It has been confirmed that six workers died in an accident that occurred on Friday evening while working in a mine in the Bapatla district of the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. 10 workers were injured in the incident, out of which the condition of four is said to be serious.
It is reported that some workers were buried under Gegyran when a large rock fell while the work of extracting stone was going on in the mine. About 16 workers were working in the mining sector at the time of the incident. The rescue team was immediately mobilized to the scene and became active in the search and rescue of survivors. The injured have been immediately admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. It has been mentioned in the preliminary information that most of the workers who died in the
accident are residents of Odisha state. Regarding this tragedy, the demand for effective security measures has started to rise from the relevant agencies and stakeholders.
