At least 6 people died when a stampede broke out at the Mansadevi temple in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.
Garhwal Mandal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey while talking to news agency ANI informed that 6 people were killed when a large crowd gathered in the temple due to a sudden stampede.
According to the devotees who came out of the rush, the temple complex was crowded with devotees because it was Sunday. Senior Superintendent of Police said that the incident happened at the stairs one hundred meters before Mansadevi temple. The cause of the
incident has not yet been revealed. It is said that there was a stampede due to rumors that electric wires were cut in the crowd. One of the dead is also a child.
