At least 22 people were killed when a fighter jet crashed into a school campus in Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka, on Monday. Most of the dead are students.
This incident is said to be the most serious plane crash after the plane crash in Bangladesh in 1984 that killed 49 people.
A Chinese-made F-7 BJI (F-7 BJI) fighter jet crashed in the playground of Milestone School and College in Dhaka shortly after taking off for training at 1:60 p.m. 169 people have died in the accident, out of which 83 people are being treated.
Rescue operations were immediately started at the scene. Firefighters and security personnel made tireless efforts to control the fire. Safiur Rahman Safi, a student who witnessed the incident, said, "We were in the playground, suddenly there was a loud noise, the ground shook, and it was known that the plane had fallen." Then the fire broke out and soon the army arrived.'
In memory of the deceased, the Bangladesh government has declared Tuesday a national day of mourning. The families of the deceased students are trying to identify their children by reaching the hospital.
