However, the Israeli army claimed to have destroyed a 'terrorist group' in northern Gaza, but it is not clear whether the two incidents are the same or different. Amnesty accuses Israel of using starvation as a weapon of genocide
Amnesty International has accused Israel of using starvation as a weapon of war in Gaza and that it is part of a policy of genocide. Agnes Callamard, the head of Amnesty, said, "While the world's attention is focused on the current tension between Israel and Iran, Israel continues its massacre in Gaza, in which a deadly mix of hunger and disease has put the people in extreme crisis." Amnesty alleges that Israel has imposed an "illegal blockade" on aid and other supplies, preventing hundreds of aid trucks from entering Gaza. On 7 October 2023, Hamas attacked Israel. About 1200 people were killed in that attack. In which there were 10 Nepalese students. The situation of Nepal's Bipin Joshi, who was captured by Hamas, is still unknown. After the attack, Israel launched a military operation against Hamas in Gaza.
According to the Ministry of Health of Palestine, Israel's war against Gaza has killed 57,130 Palestinians since October 7, 2023, and 135,173 people have been injured. More than 2 million people are facing a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with food, housing and drinking water lacking due to the more than 20-month-long war between Israel and Hamas.
Israel says it will stop operations only after Hamas is completely eliminated. Hamas has long demanded a permanent ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza. About 50 Israeli civilians are still being held by Hamas. It is said that 20 of them may be alive.
