11 people died due to floods in Texas, USA

11 people died due to floods in Texas, the second largest state in America. According to local time, at least 11 people have died due to flooding in the city of San Antonio, Texas after heavy rains, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

According to the US Weather Service, due to storms with lightning and heavy rains, the flood entered the city and caused damage to the people. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released by the police.

According to the weather department, 15 vehicles were swept away by the flood near Perrin Battle Road in San Antonio after it rained since midnight on Thursday. 10 people were rescued at that place.

Ron Nirenberg, the mayor of San Antonio, said that 11 people have been confirmed dead and that the search has been intensified after the information that some people are missing. "Out of the 11 confirmed deaths, I only know that 3 of them are between the ages of 28 and 55," he said, "We are still trying to get the rest of the information." Two tornadoes were reported in the Wimberley area near Hays County, with winds of 65 to 85 mph, the AP reported, citing the weather service.

The police believe that some more people are still missing due to the flood. The storm is moving eastward through Texas, and the weather service is asking residents in that area to be vigilant. San Antonio Police, Texas A&M Task Force One and a national team under the Federal Emergency Management Agency are involved in the search and rescue, according to the City of San Antonio. 

Local administration has closed 18 roads in view of mitigating the incidents that may be caused by the storm. The weather department claims that the flood warning will continue until Saturday morning in the area around the San Antonio River and Cibolo Creek.
