At least five people were killed in Russian airstrikes in different cities of Ukraine on Saturday morning. More than 20 civilians were injured in the attack.
According to the mayor of Kharkiv city, Ihor Terekhov, it was the largest airstrike to date. Terekhov informed that 48 drones, two missiles and four bombs were launched in the attack which started at around four in the morning on Saturday. Only three people died and 17 were injured in Kharkiv.
Similarly, artillery shelling in Kherson killed a couple and damaged two buildings. Two women were injured in the city of Dnipro, while a young woman was confirmed dead in an attack in Lutsk a day earlier on Friday. Officials said that the injured are being treated and the condition of some is critical.
Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine in recent days. On the other hand, Ukraine has proposed a ceasefire, but Russia has not yet responded positively to it. The international community is urging both sides to exercise restraint and choose a peaceful solution.
