According to the Indian media, the death toll has reached 44 due to floods and landslides in the northeastern states of India.

17 people died in Assam, 12 people in Arunachal Pradesh, 6 people in Meghalaya, 5 people in Mizoram, 2 people in Tripura and one person each in Nagaland and Manipur, NDTV wrote citing the government officials. 

Similarly, in Sikkim on Sunday evening, three soldiers were killed when the army camp was destroyed, while the other six soldiers who went missing have not been found yet.

Floods and landslides have caused the most damage in Assam. According to the Disaster Management Authority of Assam, more than 633,000 people in 1,506 villages of 21 districts are affected. 

14,739 hectares of agricultural land has been damaged. Deccan Herald has written that Sribhumi district has been affected the most and its population of 231,536 has been affected. Among the flood and landslide victims, 39 thousand 746 people have been sheltered in various temporary camps.
