At least eight people were injured in a drone and missile attack on the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, on Saturday. Officials said the attack took place during a prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine.
According to Timur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv's civil and military administration, the attack caused fires and structural damage in various areas of the city. According to the mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko, two of the injured have been admitted to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Ukraine has claimed that the Russian army has launched 788 drones and missiles since Tuesday and 776 of them were shot down by its air defense system.
According to the agreement reached in the Istanbul talks last week, Russia and Ukraine completed the first phase of the exchange of prisoners a few hours ago. Both sides have returned 390 prisoners and a total of 1,000 prisoners are expected to be exchanged.
Russia has also stated that it is preparing to present the terms of the peace agreement to Ukraine within three days.
