14 people have died due to consumption of toxic alcohol in Amritsar, Punjab, India.
According to the Punjab Police, 6 people who have become serious due to alcohol consumption have been admitted to the hospital. According to news agency ANI, this incident took place in Majitha district of Amritsar.
Amritsar SSP Maninder Singh while talking to the media persons said, 'The information was received around 10:50 last night. There were reports of people dying due to consumption of fake alcohol. Immediately we reached the spot and arrested four people including the main supplier Parbajit Singh.'
He said, '14 people have been confirmed dead. Six others have been admitted to the hospital. This incident has happened in five villages. According to
SSP, the Punjab government has instructed to take strict action against fake liquor suppliers. Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar Sakshi S said that the medical team is going door to door in these five villages.
