65,000 immigrants expelled from America in four months

The United States has expelled 65,682 immigrants in the first four months of 2025. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deports those who live illegally, engage in criminal activity, and have been ordered removed by a court.

According to ICE data, 79 Nepali and 4 Bhutanese refugees were expelled from last January to April. Of the 11 million illegal immigrants in the U.S., only 0.59 percent have been deported so far. Along with the expulsion of illegal immigrants, ICE has also arrested the businessmen who employ them. According to

ice, a fine of one million US dollars has been taken from those businessmen who were arrested. "We have also arrested those who have endangered public safety and national security, all of them are not only illegal immigrants," said the statement of Ice.

US President Donald Trump issued an order to strictly implement the policy of deporting illegal immigrants. Accordingly, the number of illegal immigrant expulsions has been increased due to the deployment of security personnel at the border due to technological tightening, while the number of people entering through the border is low.

ICE Deputy Director Madison D. Cian told US media that illegal immigration deportations will be intensified and arrest rates will be increased while maintaining national security operations. "We have also investigated the human trafficking gang, the smugglers have been bringing 5 to 700 illegal immigrants to America every year," he said.  According to the data of

ice, 79 out of 1,365 Nepalis who were on the list to be deported in the first phase have been sent to Nepal. According to Tikaram Dhakal, Director and Information Officer of the Immigration Department in Kathmandu, 6 people were deported in January, 20 in February, 30 in March and 26 in April. In which there are 66 men and 13 women.

Information officer Dhakal said that the Nepalis deported from the US were brought to Nepal through charter planes, India and regular flights. He informed that those who have been deported twice so far by chartered aircraft have been handed over to the immigration office in Kathmandu. "We have handed over 79 people who came to Nepal after being deported from the US after general inquiries and checking their profiles," said Dhakal.

4 Bhutanese refugees who arrived in Nepal after deportation have been kept in a refugee camp under police surveillance. According to Dhakal, 3 of them have been kept in Beldangi refugee camp in Jhapa and one in Pathri in Morang. They are kept in the refugee camp to report to the police office every five days. Most of the Nepalis who were deported lived in New York, California, Texas, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

The Nepali Embassy in Washington DC does not have any data on those who are currently in the process of deportation. Yugraj Pandey, the Economic Counselor of the Embassy, said that there is no data about those who are in the process of deportation and if there is a request to create travel documents for those who do not have passports, the information will be available only.

"We don't know about those who are in the process of deportation and we can't even be interested in America's policy in a diplomatic situation," said Pandey, "We only know about the deportation of Nepalese when we have to make a travel document based on the citizenship of those who don't have a passport." 389 Nepalis have been expelled from America. According to a report by the Pew Research Center, there are currently 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States.
