US President Donald Trump has said that Russia should stop attacking Ukraine. On his social network Truth Social, Trump has expressed his displeasure with the attack in Kiev and clashed with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I am not happy about the Russian attack on Kiev (the Ukrainian capital)," he wrote, "It is not necessary, and it is at a very bad time." Vladimir (Russian President Vladimir Putin), stop! 5 thousand soldiers are dying every week. Let's complete the peace agreement!'
The Russian military has recently intensified its attacks targeting civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. Wednesday night 11 people were killed in the attacks in Kiev and Kharkiv. At least 77 people were injured in the attack, the BBC reported, citing Ukrainian officials.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that 64 missiles and more than 150 drones were attacked overnight in Ukraine. He said that 11 ballistic and 55 cruise missiles were struck.
Previously, US President Donald Trump criticized President Zelensky's approach to peace talks. After Zelensky insisted that Ukraine would not accept Russia's annexation of Crimea, Trump said the comments were "very damaging to peace talks".
