At least 9 people have died in the missile and drone attack by the Russian army in the Ukrainian capital Kiev. The BBC reported that 63 people were injured in the attack, citing Ukrainian officials.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said that the injured are being treated at the hospital. According to him, six of those who were taken to the hospital are children. "Due to the attack, six places were on fire," he said. He said that some people were trapped in the debris.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said that 'a phone call was heard from the ruins'. He said that the Russian army attacked other areas including Sumi and Zhytomyr. But he says that Kiev is the most affected. The Russian military has not commented on the attack. .
Russia reported that it intercepted 87 Ukrainian drones on Thursday. Russia claims that two of them were shot down in the Moscow region and 45 shot down in Crimea.
