The unemployment rate in Australia has increased. According to data released by Australia on Thursday, the unemployment rate increased by 0.1 percent in March compared to February.

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the unemployment rate reached 4.1 percent in March. The unemployment rate was 4.0 percent in February. According to ABS, it was at 4.0 percent for five consecutive months. 

In the last 12 months, the number of Australians in employment has increased by 300,800 or 2.2 percent. Which is more than the 20-year average of 2.0 percent before the covid epidemic. According to the ABS, the number of Australians in employment increased by 32,200 between February and March. During the same period, the number of unemployed has increased by 3 thousand.

ABS head of labor statistics Sean Crick said the employment-to-population ratio (working-age population) was 64.1 percent in March. Despite the increase in employment, Crick said working hours for Australians fell by 0.3 per cent in March, citing major weather events including cyclones as the cause.
