At least 34 people were killed in the latest attack by Russia on the city of Sumy in Ukraine. At least two children are among the dead. 117 people including 15 children were injured.
According to Ukrainian officials, the Russian army fired two missiles at the city of Sumy. The Iskander-variant ballistic missile was fired in the area around Sumy University.
20 buildings, including 4 educational institutions and 5 apartments, were damaged in the Russian attack, according to the BBC, citing Ukrainian officials. In the photos and videos after the incident, blood-stained bodies are seen scattered on the road around where the missile was fired.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that one of the injured girls was born this year. He says that the doctors are trying to save as many lives as possible. "Russia wants exactly this kind of terror and is prolonging this war. "Peace is impossible without pressure on the aggressors," Zelensky said. Russia has not commented on the
attack.
