He claimed that this will increase the pressure on pharmaceutical companies and remove their business from countries like China and establish an industry in America. He said that with this step, America will emerge as a medicine seller.
During the tariff announcement last week, medicines were exempted. But now Trump has said that he will also impose a separate tariff on medicines.
Most drugs in the world are produced in China, India and Europe. Some experts have warned that if the levy on the ingredients used in medicine is imposed, the cost of medicine will increase too much for the common man .
