The Israeli army has admitted that its soldiers made mistakes in the killing of 15 emergency workers in southern Gaza on March 23.

On that day, a Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) ambulance, a United Nations car and a Gaza Civil Defense fire truck were shelled near Rafah.

Israel has claimed that the army opened fire because the car was moving suspiciously in the dark. One of the slain medical staff made a video of the attack. From the footage, it is seen that the lights of the vehicle are on when the injured are called for help.

The Israeli Defense Force has claimed that at least six of the medical staff killed were linked to Hamas. Although Israel has not yet been able to provide any proof of this.
