The death toll from the earthquake in Myanmar has reached 2,886

The death toll from Friday's earthquake in Myanmar has reached 2,886. According to officials, 4,639 people were injured. 373 people are missing.

"The lack of coordination in the assessment of natural disasters and the distribution of emergency supplies has become a major problem," Nuent said. 

On Friday afternoon, an earthquake of 7.7 magnitude occurred in the north-west of Sagaing city in Myanmar. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), another 6.4 magnitude earthquake occurred in the same area a few minutes later.

According to USGS, the depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometers below the surface of the ground. The epicenter of the earthquake is 17 km away from Mandale city in Myanmar. The military government of Myanmar has said that a temporary hospital and a relief camp have been put into operation at the Mandalay airport. 

Due to the earthquake, 18 people have lost their lives in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. According to Thai authorities, 33 people are injured. 72 people are still missing at the site of the collapsed building under construction in Bangkok.
