33 people have died due to powerful storms in 6 states in the southern region of America. According to local time, 33 people from the states of Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas and Oklahoma were killed by the storm in the period of about 24 hours from Friday evening to Saturday.

According to CNN, 12 people died in Missouri, eight in Kansas, three in Arkansas, six in Mississippi, three in Texas and one in Oklahoma. Missouri was affected by the storm for 24 hours from Friday night to Saturday.

In Missouri, where 12 people died, roofs collapsed and many businesses were destroyed. At least eight people lost their lives in 50 vehicle crashes in Kansas on Friday afternoon due to storms alone.

Gov. Laura Kelly has declared a state of emergency in anticipation of dry, dusty, fire-friendly conditions and possible effects of the storm until at least Monday.

In Arkansas, three people died and 32 people were injured. According to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, a tornado survey team confirmed EF3 damage in Cave City, Arkansas.

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders is in contact with local officials affected by the tornado in the area. Emergency Management Director Royce McKee said efforts were being made to provide assistance, food and clothing to those who lost their homes in Mississippi's Walthall and Covington counties, where 6 people died, and announced that necessary supplies would be provided, CNN noted.

According to Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves, three people are missing, two from Covington County and one from Walthall County. Fifteen people were injured in Covington County, one in Jefferson Davis County, two in Pike County and 10 in Walthall County. Tornadoes have damaged 21 counties in Mississippi.

Texas was hit by a low-intensity storm. Although Texas has a large area, it is said that there was not much damage because the storm was less powerful. Similarly, in Garfield County, Oklahoma, one person died in a car accident after a lot of dust blew up due to high impact winds.

As of Saturday night, more than 250,000 people in all six states are still without power.
