After the talks with the US in Saudi Arabia, Ukraine has immediately prepared for a one-month ceasefire. Ukraine has accepted the American proposal in the talks held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiha, Defense Minister Rustema Umerov, Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak participated in the talks held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan and National Security Advisor Mossad bin Mohammed Al-Aiwan were present in the American team led by Foreign Minister Marco Rubio.

As Ukraine prepares for a ceasefire, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says he will talk to Russia. Rubio says that it is now Moscow's turn to take the next step. Rubio, who arrived in Ireland from Saudi Arabia, told reporters at Shannon Airport that the United States would strongly urge Russia to end all hostilities.

We will contact them today. We are contacting various levels of counterparts and various members of the administration. And that will continue," Rubio said. Expressing his hope for a positive response from Russia, Rubio said that there is no military solution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

But Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Russian presidential office, Kremlin, has responded that he is waiting for detailed information from the American side about the talks. He said that it is necessary to analyze the commitment of the Americans before commenting on the possible ceasefire agreed upon in the talks.

"We are closely analyzing everything that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Adviser Mike Waltz said in Jeddah yesterday," Kremlin spokesman Peskov said.

Regarding the possible talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, Peskov said that if necessary, a telephone conversation could be held "very soon". But he says that President Putin will only talk to Trump. Therefore, he says, the Kremlin is holding the ball in its court for the time being until it has all the information it needs to take action. But before this, Russian President Putin has repeatedly rejected proposals for a temporary ceasefire, arguing that Ukraine would use the opportunity to take up arms again and reorganize.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the one-month ceasefire proposal was "positive" and that it was up to the US to persuade Russia. With Ukraine agreeing to the proposal, the US has said that security cooperation and intelligence sharing will resume immediately.

Ukrainian President Zelensky, who reached the White House for the mineral deal, got into a heated argument with US President Trump and Vice President JD Vance, and Washington stopped that support. "The delegations of both countries have agreed to start immediate negotiations for a lasting peace that will ensure the long-term security of Ukraine," the joint statement issued after the talks said.

Earlier, Zelensky proposed a ceasefire limited to the air and sea areas. But now Ukraine has agreed to a 30-day cease-fire, which includes stopping the ground war. Zelensky thanked Trump for the "constructive" talks in Jeddah, the BBC reported. In a video message, he said that Russia must now be clear about "stopping or continuing the war". "Now is the time for the absolute truth," Zelensky said.

Some European leaders have welcomed Ukraine's decision to accept a US proposal for a ceasefire. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has said that progress in talks between Ukraine and the US is positive. "We must now redouble our efforts to achieve a lasting, secure peace," he said in a question-and-answer session at the House of Commons. "I will convene international leaders on Saturday to discuss how we can make further progress." "Now it's up to Putin," he said. Similarly, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has also welcomed Kiev's support for the proposal.

Latvia's President Edgars Rinkevics said that Ukraine has shown a real desire to achieve a just and lasting peace and said that "the ball is now in Russia's court". On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine as Ukraine prepared to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Since then, Russia has taken control of about 20 percent of Ukraine's territory.
