Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte was taken to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands, on Tuesday night, 12 hours after his arrest.

A social media post by one of his lawyers, Martin Delgra, showed a photo of the small plane that took the 79-year-old Duterte to The Hague. Duterte's close aide Salvador Medialde was among those who boarded the plane with Duterte.

Duterte was arrested on Tuesday morning and detained due to an arrest warrant issued by the ICC. Duterte has questioned the move. The Presidential Communications Office has not commented on Duterte's departure.
