41 road construction workers were trapped in an avalanche in Mana, Chamauli, Uttarakhand, India. According to Indian media, 57 people from Border Road Organizations were trapped, 16 people have been rescued. Those who were rescued have been taken to the hospital.

The avalanche occurred at Mana Pass, 52 km north of Badrinath Dham. Chamauli District Officer Sandeep Tiwari said Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and army have been deployed in the rescue operation. Similarly, the State Disaster Response Force and the National Disaster Response Force are also engaged in the rescue. 

According to District Officer Tiwari, it is still raining and snowing in Utak area. He said that due to bad weather, the helicopter could not be flown in the rescue operation.
