US President Donald Trump has said that he is preparing to remove the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. President Trump has said that he wants to send Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt and Jordan.

He says that they should be moved from there because Gaza is a 'destroyed place'. He said that they can be kept in Egypt and Jordan as 'temporary' or 'long-term'.

A few days ago, in a telephone conversation with King Abdullah of Jordan, Trump said that he made such a proposal  are . "I'm looking at the entire Gaza Strip now." It is very destroyed,' he said. Trump says that he plans to make a similar request to the Egyptian president.

The Palestinian group Hamas has said that it opposes any move to relocate the locals. Trump's comments are likely to anger Palestinians who consider Gaza their ancestral home.

Our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip endured death and destruction for 15 months without leaving their land. Therefore, despite the good intentions for reconstruction as announced by the US, they will not accept any proposal or solution,' said Bassem Naim, a member of the political bureau of Hamas, to the BBC.

Most of Gaza's two million residents have been displaced by the 15-month-long war with Israel. In addition, most of Gaza's infrastructure has been destroyed by the war since October 7, 2023.

The United Nations has said that 60 percent of the structures in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed and it will take decades to rebuild them.

President Trump has not released detailed information on the relocation of Palestinians. ``Almost everything is destroyed and people are dying,'' Trump said,  'So I want to engage with some Arab countries and build housing in different places where they can live in peace for a change .'
