Russia has said that it is ready to hold talks with US President Donald Trump about the Ukraine war. The Russian presidential office, Kremlin, said that it is ready for "equal, mutual and respectful talks" with Trump about the Ukraine war.
Earlier, US President Trump said that the Ukraine war is ridiculous and warned that if the war does not stop, he will impose sanctions against Moscow.
'We are waiting for more signs to come,' said Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin. He says he sees nothing new in Trump's threat to impose sanctions.
On Wednesday, Dmitry Polansky, the deputy head of Russia's mission to the United Nations, said the Kremlin needed to know what Trump wanted in a deal to end the war before taking any further steps.
American President Trump on Wednesday warned Russia to impose more taxes and sanctions if it does not end the war with Ukraine. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister welcomed Trump's warning.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiha said, 'We really welcome such strong messages from President Trump.'
He says that Ukraine is confident that Trump will win this case. "It will bring new momentum to diplomatic efforts to end the war and achieve a lasting, just and comprehensive peace," he said.
