A state of emergency has been declared in Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia and Arkansas along with some places in New Jersey. The states of Kansas and Missouri are said to be the most affected. The storm is expected to affect the east coast of America more.
Meteorologists have stated that extreme weather conditions have arisen due to the 'Polar Vortex'. An area of cold air spreading in the Arctic is called 'Polar Vortex'.
15 to 30 cm of snow is expected from Ohio to Washington DC. Meteorologists predict that even in the state of Florida, which usually has good weather, it will be extremely cold. More than three feet of snow has fallen in upstate New York.
